LAKESIDE FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Lakeside Fire Department was organized in 1949 with a common goal of protecting life and property in our community.
Although the size of the district has grown in the Town of Geddes, we are also protecting portions of the Towns of Camillus and Van Buren. Our yearly alarm totals are increasing greatly but our manpower resources have decreased.
We are currently in the process of actively recruiting new members to join our ranks. We are a 100% volunteer organization that responds to all types of alarms. These include the following:
· Structure Fires
· EMS Alarms
· Motor Vehicle Accidents and Fires
At times the work we do is tough, challenging and even dirty!
But the rewards are many. Lasting friendships with your fellow firefighters and knowing that you have helped someone in need is a good feeling.
However, did you know we offer the following benefits?
· Free Training-EMS and Firematic
· Protective Firefighting Gear
· Work and Dress uniforms
· Life Insurance Policy
· LOSAP (Length of Service Award Program)
So if you feel your up to the challenge and would like to help out your community, why don’t you give us a call or stop by our fire station and speak to one of our officers and find out what we are all about.
We meet on Monday evenings at 7:00 PM for training, you can speak to a
Representative then.
